Redcar Leisure and Community Heart, Civic Trust Awards, Redcard and Cleveland Borough Council, Teesside. a new leisure centre, range of civic facilities, a business centre, car parking and major public realm improvements into a single, comprehensive redevelopment that knits together a previously fragmented part of the town. It brings together a range of council functions into a dedicated civic hub alongside a state of the art leisure centre that contains 3 pools and an innovative flow-rider. The new business centre provides accommodation to support fledgling businesses in the region. These functions are located around a new civic square which is tied back into the surrounding fabric via a tree-lined boulevard. The development acts as a catalyst to the future regeneration of the wider Redcar and Cleveland area and has transformed the western edge of the town centre.
